Description

Whew! Just as we thought it wouldn't push through we finally made it! We welcome 2013 with a new set of meetups starting with the best of mobile success stories from 2012. We bring you our own homegrown mobile applications that made it big last year.

  • From the Consumer sector we have the Stephen Craton, Engineer for looloo. Aside from being the official Dungeons and Dragons Night organizer, Stephen is also looloo's #1 prankster. His greatest prank? Sneaking in Easter eggs all over looloo's code base.

  • From the government sector we have Atty. Yves P. Gonzalez, MMDA's Director and OIC of the Traffic Discipline Office. Since joining MMDA as its spokesperson in July 2010, he has done wonders bringing traffic information to the masses, particularly with the MMDA mobile apps.

  • From the banking sector we have Jake Alejo, brand manager for BPI Express Mobile. He was the marketing officer in charge with launching the BPI Express Mobile App for iPhone and Androids, as well as the BPI Mobile Wallet, the bank's entry into mobile NFC payments. Jake is also in charge of marketing BPI's electronic bills payment facility for BPI's online, mobile, and phone IVRS platforms. He will be joined by Frederick M. Faustino, Senior Manager and head of BPI's Mobile Banking Channel during the Q&A portion. Since 2008, he has been managing mobile banking as a Senior Manager. Throughout his stint, the Bank’s mobile banking channel continuously trailblazed in the Philippine mobile banking scene – offering SMS banking with both Globe and Smart, and mobile apps for banking and shopping. In 2010, BPI Express Mobile was adjudged Best Mobile Phone Banking in Asia Pacific, Central Asia and the Gulf Region 2009 by Asian Banker. Late last year, the BPI Mobile Wallet, BPI’s foray on mobile NFC payments, was launched to the public.

As usual we have free drinks and food waiting for you. Please note however that due to the limited space of the venue, we can only allow 80 people inside. So for the first time, we aren't going to allow any walkins. Which means, if you're not pre-registered, we can't let you in. So if you register and decide at the last minute that you can't make it, please be kind enough to cancel your slot through doorkeeper so others may get in.

See you on Mobile Monday!
